The EYFS had a great time visiting a local farm, Strudda Bank. The learnt all about where our food comes from and the animals on the farm.
Today the children learned about Semana Santa ( Holy week) in many Spanish speaking countries. Mrs Colley showed us some photos of alfombras. They are made from coloured sand or sawdust and communities create them to be walked on during the Easter Processions.
A group of dancers took part in the U Dance festival in Carlisle. I think everyone who attended was very impressed and we look forward to participating again next year!
This year we read Dear Greenpeace on the shore on Parton beach. The PTA held a competition (with prizes) for the best potato decorated as a book character. The staff had the same competition and entries were judged by the children.

Today we were given a cup for coming first in the small school's street tag awards! Well done to everyone who takes part. If you haven't downloaded the app for you and your kids yet Miss Bell will be sending a link out again.
Today the fire service have visited and spoke to the children about their jobs. This formed part of our dress up as who you would like to be in the future day.
We kicked off this month with the school choir visiting Manchester Arena to sing with thousands if others. Young Voices aims to create the largest children's choir concerts ever. There was entertainment from Heather Small who sang hits such as Moving on Up.
The children all had a great day!
